How to choose between them
555 MMA-300 PRO — the dependable everyday stick welder. A clean single-knob 160A inverter for 2.5–3.2mm electrodes. Ideal for general fabrication, repair and maintenance where simplicity and reliability matter most.
555 MMA-400 PRO — more output and more control. 180A with adjustable Arc Force for digging into tight joints, plus a built-in circuit breaker. The pick when you run 4.0mm electrodes or want finer arc tuning on heavier structural work.
555 ARC 250 GT — the versatile professional's choice. 210A, and the only one of the three that adds Lift TIG, genuine E6010/E6011 cellulosic capability for pipe root runs, a 70V OCV / 18V VRD safety package and a full digital LED panel. If you weld pipe, mixed materials, or want clean TIG welds from the same machine, this is it.
Frequently asked questions
Which 555 welder is best for pipe welding?
The ARC 250 GT — it is the only one of the three rated for E6010/E6011 cellulosic electrodes used for pipe root runs, and it also runs E7018 low-hydrogen for fill and cap.
Is the MMA-400 PRO a 400-amp welder?
No. “400 PRO” is the series designation; its honest rated output is 180A (180A at 35% duty, rated to EN/IEC 60974-1 at 40°C). We publish real duty-cycle figures rather than headline numbers.
Do all three run on a normal 220V socket?
Yes — all three are 220V single-phase and run on a standard supply.
Which has VRD safety?
The ARC 250 GT includes VRD (18V), reducing open-circuit voltage when idle — useful for damp or confined site work.
