What is MMA / stick welding?
MMA (Manual Metal Arc), also called stick welding, strikes an arc between a flux-coated electrode and the workpiece. As the electrode melts it both fills the joint and lays down a protective slag, so it works well outdoors and on less-than-perfect metal.
It runs on common coated electrodes such as 6013 (easy, general-purpose) and 7018 (low-hydrogen, stronger structural welds). That makes it a practical, low-fuss choice for steel fabrication, repair, site work and general welding — no shielding gas bottle required.
